You should have been physically present in the U.S for half of the five years that you have been a permanent resident.
You should be living in the state or district in which you are applying for naturalization for at least three months prior to applying.
You must have good moral character.
You must be able to read, write and converse in basic English.
You must have a basic knowledge about the history and civics of the country.
You must be ready to support the constitution of the United States and pledge allegiance to the nation.
