Citizenship test for High school students in the United States

Category : Naturalization

This is an initiative taken by The Civics Education Initiative (CEI) who are likely to introduce a legislation in Arizona, Missouri, Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, South Carolina, and Utah that would require high school students to take the test during their high school careers. According to recent reports by Annenberg Public Policy Center and other organizations, some Native Americans and most Americans are not able to correctly identify the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, names of the three branches of the government and when the Constitution was signed the history of United States or the 10 amendments of the U.S. Constitution.

This initiative requires them to pass the test before clearing their diplomas at High school level. CEI is planning to introduce this legislation in all the American states by September 17, 2017, the 230th birthday of the U.S. Constitution.
